How we work

Make the evidence visible.

Four distinct evidence labels

Researched
Based on cited documents and comparisons.
Measured
We recorded the stated dimensions or observations ourselves.
Owner-reported
An attributed owner supplied the account.
Tested
A documented test method supports the specific result.

Prices and calculations

Price records need a date, exact variant and clear inclusions. Tools show their inputs, assumptions and limits. Missing information stays visible instead of becoming a guessed number.

Corrections

Factual corrections should identify the page, the claim and supporting evidence. The working correction process records the change and its date.

Sources, dates and changes

Official guidance supports regulatory explanations; manufacturer documentation supports attributed product specifications. A manufacturer claim is not independent performance evidence. We state unresolved specifications instead of filling gaps with guesses. Check the review date and the source before making a purchase or construction decision.

Our buying guides make clear editorial recommendations for specific needs. We compare the researched models on usable space, access, included equipment, upkeep and dated prices, then explain why we would choose one and who should choose something else. A researched pick is a judgement based on that evidence; it does not claim a hands-on test or a survey of every product on sale. Send an evidence-based challenge through our corrections process.
